7pm: The Arrowtown Autumn Festival begins with almost 200 artworks exhibited in the gallery of the Lakes District Museum, Arrowtown. Entry for the popular launch costs $5 and admission will be by gold coin donation while the show runs until May 20.
7pm: Queenstown singer Hine Marchant is accompanied by Les Richardson on the keyboard for the Friday Jazz Club in Les Alpes.
10pm: Queenstown DJs Downtown Brown and Turbohag select hip-hop, glitch, dubstep and drum'n'bass in Subculture. Free before midnight.
10pm: Resident DJs Tim Sergeant, JT and guests spin house and electro in The Bunker. Free.

9pm: North Carolina-born world-touring bluesman Big Daddy Wilson plays a live R18 show in Dux de Lux, then a family-friendly show in the New Orleans Hotel, Arrowtown tomorrow. Wilson will be accompanied on his national tour by old pal Steve "Guitar" Gilles and Dunedin trio Delgirl, which straddles roots, Pasifika, folk, country and pop. Pre-sale tickets for the Queenstown gig cost $15 from Dux de Lux, or $20 at the door. Pre-sales for the Arrowtown gig at 5pm cost $20 from New Orleans Hotel, or $25 at the door.

Downtown Brown and D-Jade host Rudeboy Irie Trav and the "Subculture Allstars" to celebrate the Church St basement venue's ninth birthday.

7pm: The Stewart Island Quiz comes to the Frankton Ale House, then the New Orleans Hotel on Wednesday. Entry costs $5, towards the Cancer Society.
