The cabins built by 'Jack Of All Trades' contestants were hoisted from the south to the north of the Shotover Top 10 Holiday Park this week.
The first of four cabins built by the contestants of TV One programme Jack Of All Trades in August was shifted by a 55-tonne crane within the Shotover Top 10 Holiday Park on Wednesday.

Producers wanted the 9.7-tonne cabins built at the southern end of the Arthurs Point holiday park to make the most of the picturesque winter background, owner-operators Kenneth and Sandra Mitchell said.

However, campervan and tent sites were earmarked for the area, so a crane and flat-bed truck were hired to shift the units.

"The first challenge was the weight of the cabins, which was unknown," Mr Mitchell said.

"A 30-tonne crane was here last week but wasn't big enough. The second challenge is the tight area to manoeuvre in."

The one-bedroom units accommodated six people in beds and bunks.

The first cabin would be available for bookings in about three weeks and all four ready in about six weeks.

The Mitchell family had been developing the 1.1ha park since it bought the property three years ago.

"We'll be five-star and offer a unique product in 12 to 24 months," Mr Mitchell said.

Jack Of All Trades airs on Saturday at 3.50pm.
