Work begins on Monday to extend the seal on Cemetery Rd at Lake Hawea, with the work to continue until mid-May.
The Queenstown Lakes District Council will alter the vertical alignment of the road to improve sight lines and seal a 1.4km stretch from the end of the existing seal to the intersection with Domain Rd.
Because the road reserve to the north of the road is likely to be dug up for services to and from planned new subdivisions, a rudimentary footpath will be constructed on Cemetery Rd at this time, according to a media advisory from project manager Rob Darby.
