Upgrade of Hensman Rd continuing

Work on Hensman Rd continues this week with road closures taking place to enable the road structure and shape to be upgraded, the Queenstown Lakes District Council says.

The road will be closed to through traffic on Friday and again between Monday, October 3 and Friday, October 7.

A diversion will be in place. However, residents will still have access to their properties.

Council project manager Steve Hewland said in a statement on Friday while they would try to keep disruption to a minimum, heavy machinery would be in use during the period and there would be associated noise and vibration.

The work is scheduled to finish at the end of November.
