Wakatipu Parish children and young families worker Emma Wilson (left), member of the vestry Jan Cockerill and the Rt Rev Dr David Coles presented on Sunday just a few samples of the handy household, desirably decorous, readily readable and tasty treats in store at the Wakatipu Parish Market and Children's Fun Day this Saturday.

Stalls will be loaded with home baking, jams, cut flowers, plants, bric-a-brac, books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, records, toys, clothes and accessories for bargain hunters to sort through.

High value and quality goods will be on the block in a silent auction. Photographs of large items for sale or donation will be posted on a board.

Two raffles will offer the chance to win a Christmas hamper and a gourmet food basket.

A free bouncy castle and activities will entertain youngsters. A sausage sizzle and Devonshire cream teas and coffees will be served.

The annual market is the parish's major fundraiser and all proceeds will go towards supporting parish work with children and families.

Anyone wanting to give items for sale can drop them off at the parish office on week days between 9am and 1pm.

The market and fun day will be held on the grounds of St Peter's Anglican Church, Queenstown, on November 23, at 9am to noon.
