A new Shaping Our Future steering group was elected at the society's inaugural annual meeting at the Cardrona hall on Thursday.
The new members are Queenstown-based company director and Christchurch Airport chief executive Jim Boult, Wanaka-based media company director Celia Crosbie, Wanaka businesswoman and project director of the Longview Environmental Trust Prue Kane, Warbirds Over Wanaka general manager Ed Taylor, U3A representative and economist Ralph Hanan and Queenstown businessman Trent Yeo. They join existing steering group members Pete Bullen, Alastair Porter and David Kennedy, who was re-elected chairman.
Under the Shaping Our Future Inc rules, three members of the steering group - Sally Battson, Ella Lawton and Queenstown Lakes Mayor Vanessa van Uden - stood down.
Shaping Our Future was established in December 2010 with the support of the Queenstown Lakes District Council, Otago Polytechnic, Ngai Tahu Tourism, Destination Queenstown and Lake Wanaka Tourism, and Wanaka and Queenstown Chambers of Commerce.
The establishment steering group has guided the organisation through three forums and its incorporation.
