Snowboarding: Hyne takes men's open snowboard division

Nick Hyne, of Queenstown, won the men's open snowboard division with a best run of 26, while Christy Prior won the women's open snowboard section with a best run of 15.1 at the Tararua Real Iced Coffee Slopestyle Series on Saturday.

Jay Walsh came first in the junior men's snowboard division with a 23.2 best run and Olivia Kalb was first in the junior women's section with 18.

Matt Soundy was first in the open men's ski section with 25.4 and Adie Lawrence, of Queenstown, was first in the women's section with 15.

Beau-James Wells, of Wanaka, took first place in the junior men's ski division with 27.1.

The slopestyle series was held on the Dirty Dog Terrain Park, at the Remarkables skifield.

A field of 42 snowsports people from Queenstown and Wanaka took part, plus a contingent of nine from Japan.

Beau-James Wells won the ski under-16 boys section with a 23.1 best run, while Colleen Rotto, of Queenstown, won ski under-16 girls, with a 14.2 best run, in the K2 Parklife MiniShred, at the Remarkables beginner park yesterday.

Ryan Matthews was first in the snowboard under-16 boys division with a 19.8 best run.

Francis Brundell won ski under-14 boys with a 19.7 best run and Hamish Bagley won snowboard under-14 bpys with a 20.3 best run.

Ollie Streat won the snowboard under-12 boys with a best run of 13.6, Kristal Roberts won snowboard under-12 girls with 17.9 best run and Toby Dickson won ski under-12 boys with a 20.8 best run.
