Chain-fitting workshops will be held over the next three days, organised by the Queenstown Lakes District Council to educate drivers before winter.
The workshops will be held today between noon and 2pm at the Village Green, tomorrow between 10am and noon at Remarkables Park and from 1pm and 3pm at the Village Green, and on Sunday as part of the Wakatipu Ski Club Ski Sale at the Queenstown Events Centre, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
Winter driving tips:
• Clear ice off all car windows before driving.
• Reduce speed and increase following distances.
• Carry chains and check you know how they fit.
• Remember roads can freeze at any time of day and conditions are changeable.
• Brake and accelerate gently.
• Keep extra warm clothing in your car.
