Treble Cone ski prices increase

Treble Cone's 2011 early-bird season passes and packages are on sale from today, with price increases across the board.

An early-bird adult season pass is available as a five-day Powder Pass for $375, an increase of $26; a 10-day pass for $649, an increase of $50; or an unlimited season pass for $1069, an increase of $70.

The ski area will continue the locals' youth pass, providing unlimited skiing for the region's schoolchildren for $159, up from $149 last year, or free for children under 6.

Free youth passes are also available for children who enrol in Treble Cone's Riders and Sliders, or Freeride programme. Bookings are required before May 31.

The family pass or mountain package includes season passes for two adults and two children, Riders and Sliders for children aged between 4 and 12 and complimentary childcare for 3 to 6-year-olds are available for $2049.

Families who do not want the Rider and Slider/childcare add-on can buy a family season pass for $1799.

Treble Cone Ski Area manager Jackie Van der Voort said with online pass bookings, customers would be offered a three-instalment payment plan for three of the early-bird passes.

Online buyers of the unlimited adult and both family season passes could spread the payment over three months, subject to terms and conditions.

Treble Cone early-bird season passes are available from February 12 to March 13 either at www.treblecone.com or by visiting the new downtown Wanaka office on Dungarvon St.

The 2011 season is expected to run from June 23 to October 2.
