Destination Queenstown has taken the message of what the Wakatipu has to offer to Auckland this week in a Travel Trade Showcase.
Representatives from the regional tourism organisation and 25 Queenstown tourism operators updated and informed industry counterparts at the Rendezvous Hotel yesterday and will continue today.
Chief executive Stephen Pahl said the initiative was an opportunity for operators to form a united front and engage with trade partners to promote Queenstown.
"This is an innovative way to ensure the Queenstown brand continues to stay front of mind for those in the travel trade industry who sell the resort as a tourism destination," he said. "We've received an impressive number of registrations, including 80 Auckland frontline agents and about 50 product managers, who'll attend the showcase sessions."
Destination Queenstown market manager Catriona Noonan and Queenstown Convention Bureau manager Kylie Brittain will join Mr Pahl in leading the presentation at the Travel Trade Showcase.
Showcase participants include AJ Hackett Bungy, Appellation Wine Trail, Shotover Canyon Swing, Europcar, Glenorchy Air, Guided Walks New Zealand, Kawarau Jet, Ngai Tahu Tourism, Nomad Safaris, NZONE, Queenstown Heritage Tours, Queenstown Rafting/Kiwi Discovery, Real Journeys Serious Fun Riversurfing and the Rees.
