Life Synergy Expo bubbles to the fore

Millbrook Resort near Arrowtown sets the scene for Queenstown's largest Life Synergy Expo on Sunday.

The event promises an exciting day of inspiration for a healthy lifestyle, wellness, healing, spirituality, dance and food, with more than 50 exhibitors along with seminar speakers and entertainment.

Millbrook Resort sales and marketing director Kim Carpenter said wellness and health had always had priority at Millbrook.

"We offer a variety of wellness activities.

"Combined with our beautiful surroundings, this makes Millbrook an ideal location for a wellness event.

"We are proud to invite everybody to come join us at the expo for a day of inspiration," Mr Carpenter said.

Organiser and Life Synergy director Margo Berryman said this year's event would have a broader scope than previous Life Synergy Expos, without taking any elements of health and spirituality away.

"This year, we have added a great focus on food and lifestyle products, which could appeal to new visitors who have not been at a Life Synergy Expo before.

"There will be something to interest almost anyone," Ms Berryman said.

A full programme of seminar speakers would address subjects ranging from health practices and organic produce to sustainable business.

One of the drawcards was expected to be cooking demonstrations by Millbrook Resort executive chef Russell Heron.

Mr Heron would present a range of food and dishes prepared for "family-style eating" in the Clubhouse Restaurant between noon and 4pm.

"I will be cooking dishes focusing on healthy, quick family meals using in particular seasonal produce which, when in season, not only tastes great, but is often at its cheapest and so therefore good for family budgets.

"For our busy lifestyles these days, no-one wants to spend all day in the kitchen preparing meals.

"We are fortunate to have our own herb and vegetable garden here at Millbrook, so I will also be showcasing some of the lovely fresh ingredients direct from the garden," Mr Heron said.

Millbrook's pastry chef Sadie Richens would hold cooking demonstrations.

Fittingly for the pregnant chef, they would be focused on "growing healthy families", presenting some pregnancy dishes and sweet treats.

Guest speaker and Ayurvedic specialist Dr S. Ajit, from Planet Ayurveda Wellness Centre and Spa, would present a session on cooking with traditional Ayurvedic ingredients for total wellbeing, while the Hole in One cafe at Millbrook Resort would feature a diverse menu from healthy dietary options through to lovely sweets, cakes and pastries.

• The Life Synergy Expo will be held at Millbrook Resort on Sunday from 9am. Entry is by gold coin donation.
