Pictured during yesterday’s Arrowtown Long Table, in Buckingham St, are Queenstown residents (above, from left) Nicole Coleman, Denise Cullen, Darelle Jenkins, Cass Laverty, Lisa Reid and Carleen Dalton.

The event was formerly managed by the Arrowtown Promotion and Business Association, but You Gather Events’ Laura and Campbell Ross last year took ownership of the long-standing long lunch, first held in 2010.

However due to rising costs associated with consents and infrastructure the couple, who also run the Arrowtown Gin Festival, cancelled last year’s event.

Almost 700 people lined Arrowtown’s historic main street yesterday, none of whom were bothered by the untimely drizzle, to celebrate its return.

This year’s 12 partner restaurants included Aosta, Bianca by Giovi, Swiftsure by Man O’ War and La Rumbla, and there was a special collaboration between Royalburn Station and Queenstown Catering.

A portion of the ticket sales from the event funded a replacement defibrillator to go outside the Arrowtown Post Office.
