Thirty years of Doc celebrated

Marking the Department of Conservation’s  30th anniversary at a function  in Queenstown on Thursday afternoon are  present and former Doc Wakatipu operations managers (from left) Greg Lind (2004-15), Geoff Owen (2015-present), Chris Eden (1997-2003) and John Roberts, the department’s conservation services manager from 2014-15 and  now the statutory manager.

About 100 invited guests attended the informal function at the Lake Hayes Pavilion on Thursday afternoon.

It marked three decades since the department was formed following the merger of the conservation aspects of the Forest Service, the Department of Lands and Survey and the Wildlife Service.
