Greenstone Entertainment, promoters of the sold-out Summer Concert Tour, have advised that, owing to a family illness, Thorogood and band ''will be unable to perform''.
Greenstone Entertainment CEO Amanda Calvert said the tour would proceed as planned, with The Orchestra - starring former members of Electric Light Orchestra - now joining headliner Alanis Morissette, and Colin Hay, of Men at Work fame.
A fourth act - Santa Barbara-born and now Nashville-based band Fairground Saints - has been added to the line-up.
Calvert said they sent their best wishes to Thorogood and his band and family, ''and completely understand that family must come first''.
The concerts will take place in Queenstown on January 20, Taupo on January 27 and Whitianga on January 28.
