The day started with a champagne breakfast and was followed by a golden ticket hunt and a disco, dance and barbecue in the plaza.
Treble Cone general manager Jackie van der Voort said the field "was renowned" for its end-of-season celebrations and lots of season pass-holders, a large group from out of town and 60 University of Otago students came for the day.
She said the alcohol consumption was managed very closely. There was security on site and police were present on the skifield.
Ms van der Voort said the 2017 season had been a challenging one because the start of the season was delayed until July 5, but July and August were "good".
She said the weather pattern was also quite unusual for Treble Cone this year, with August not having the traditional straight run of 30 to 35 consecutive bluebird days.
"This year we had an average of three and a-half bad weather days a week which did impact on us a bit, but at the end of the season we’re pretty happy with the numbers we’ve got."
Ms van der Voort said the 2018 ski season would be an even bigger year of celebrations as it would be 50 years since the first Treble Cone skifield opened.
