One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on Tekapo-Twizel Road (State Highway 8) in the Mackenzie District.
The crash involving a car and a tree was reported about 6.50pm.
The road reopened about 9pm.
Police thanked the public for their patience while the road was being cleared.
