Nearly $3000 in grants have been approved to four arts-related projects around Clutha.
The Clutha District Council's creative communities New Zealand funding scheme committee gave its biggest allocation of $1300 to the West Otago Theatrical Society to help stage its annual show this winter.
It also agreed to contribute $750 towards the Pounawea papercraft retreat planned in March. The event is an annual weekend workshop for card-making and scrapbooking enthusiasts.
The other grants were $550 to help fund a photographic exhibition on Waihola's history and $300 towards a weekend workshop being organised by the New Machine Knitters Society from Southland.
