Feedback on Milton's community plans will be a key point of discussion at a Clutha district service delivery committee meeting tomorrow.

The feedback from Milton residents was received as part of the Clutha District Council's Our Place Community Plans.

Almost 1600 pieces of feedback were received and included in the Our Place Milton Feedback Report.

Councillors will make initial decisions about key projects at the meeting tomorrow.

Council chief executive Steve Hill said the community plans were a way of implementing the council's goal to promote living and working in the Clutha district.

''Once councillors approve the final priorities and project plans later this year, we'll be looking for community input to get them off the ground.''

Key projects identified for Milton included a main street upgrade, the Milton swimming pool, walking and cycleways and a focus on its parks and reserves.

An upgrade of the public toilets and surrounding area, future-proofing pool facilities and upgrading the three main pedestrian crossings and improving Milton's southern entrance were identified as the top priorities for the town.

Mr Hill anticipated some projects would go ahead more quickly than others.

Some were likely to be considered as part of the council's long-term plan 2018-28.

Clutha Mayor Bryan Cadogan said it was ''terrific'' to see the feedback from the Milton community.

He thanked those who made the effort to have their say.

''I'm asking you to hang in there now while we work out the final priorities and then come back to you with costings where applicable,'' Mr Cadogan said.
