Clutha Vets board chairman Garth Shaw yesterday confirmed Meredith MacKenzie had resigned as chief executive.
But he would not comment on any related issues except to say, in a statement, the day-to-day running of the business was in the hands of staff "in the short term".
In a one-paragraph statement supplied to the Otago Daily Times yesterday, Ms MacKenzie said the directors of Clutha Vets had made the choice to "consider new business structures", which she endorsed.
"I am leaving on very good terms with the directors and with most of the staff, to pursue opportunities in warmer places."
