Spark has temporarily closed its store in Balclutha after the building was found to be earthquake prone.
A spokeswoman said the store did not reach the Spark policy standard for earthquake resilience, so it had been temporarily closed.
"Our ... standard is more stringent than government building requirements, so we are making this closure by choice, rather than by necessity."
The company said it hoped to reopen in a new location in a few weeks.
In the meantime, Spark could be contacted by phone, online or at its Gore or Dunedin stores.
