Warning after burglary of Milton inn

Police are warning Milton residents and business owners to be wary after the White Horse Inn was burgled early yesterday.

Clutha-Taieri area response manager Senior Sergeant Cynthia Fairley, of Balclutha, said the White Horse Inn, in Union St, Milton, was broken into about 4am yesterday.

She said a male offender allegedly broke in through the roof.

The alarm was activated and the man fled.

Three bottles of spirits were taken.

Police would like the public to come forward with any information or if they saw anything suspicious at the time.

It was the third burglary at a commercial property in the past few weeks, Snr Sgt Fairley said.

The Midway Dairy in Union St was also broken into recently.

Because of this, police warned business owners to be on the lookout and report anything
suspicious immediately.

If anyone has any information in relation to the burglaries, they are asked to call police in Balclutha on (03) 418-0203 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555-111.
