Final touches are being made as organisers prepare for a wearable arts competition in Milton next weekend.
The ''Design and Shine'' wearable arts competition will be held in Milton's Coronation Hall on Saturday, to raise money for the Tokomairiro Toy Library.
Library secretary Teri Cookson said the group had overcome a ''few hurdles along the way'' as two of the original judges had to pull out. The confirmed judges are South Otago schools drama director Evelyn Mann, South Otago Theatrical Society choreographer Robyn Gardner and Milton artist Veronica Fisher. The competition has attracted 18 entries across five sections.
The supreme winner receives $1000, and section winners $200. On Friday, a ''Kids on the Catwalk'' event will be held for those under 10.
Entries will be accepted until 5pm on Thursday.
