Burst pipe at Southland holiday park

Invercargill City Council contractors have spent 12 hours fixing a burst water pipe at the Top 10 Holiday Parks grounds.

Owner Philip Todd said the pipe burst just after 9pm yesterday at his McIvor Rd holiday park in Waikiwi.

“Somebody yelled out to me so I came out and the concrete slab [out the front] was floating and water was just pouring out of it.”

Despite the inconvenience, his business was not affected by the flooding, he said.

A council representative confirmed the pipeline was owned by the council.
