Invercargill youngsters were part of the local library’s children’s programme yesterday.

Early educator Sarah Hayman takes Reed McMaster (2) to the event every week as she believes it is a great way for him to learn new skills through rhymes, play and movement.

"He can learn about language, interaction, group participation," she said,

"The kids have a lot of fun."

Sakura Nicholl (2) and her brother Bronson (11 months) also have a blast playing with the bead maze at Invercargill City Libraries and Archives.

"It is one of their favourite places in the city. They can enjoy while I catch up my reading," their mother Ebony Nicholl said.REPORT & PHOTO: LUISA GIRAO
