One person has died following an early morning truck crash on State Highway 1 in Southland, police say.
The crash, involving one vehicle, happened at Edendale just before 2.50am today on the Mataura-Invercargill highway.
Three other people were taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
The road had been partly closed between St Ronans Rd and Moore Rd for several hours, but NZTA advised it had reopened by 10am.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
