Couple to be new supermarket’s owners

The operators of Wanaka’s New World supermarket for the past five years, Dean and Natashia Bartley,  will be the owners of the new New World supermarket in the Three Parks commercial area.

Foodstuffs head of external relations Antoinette Laird confirmed the arrangement this week, saying Foodstuffs was a co-operative with members owning and operating their businesses.

Foodstuffs South Island general manager property and development Roger Davidson said construction was progressing as planned, with the supermarket due to open in the fourth quarter of this year.   New World in central Wanaka would ‘‘continue to serve’’  Wanaka, Mr Davidson said.
