'This isn't the end' runners-up of film contest say

A web series pilot shot in Wanaka has failed to win a competition to secure full production.

Constance - a ''Scandi-noir influenced'' drama - was one of five finalists in the TVNZ New Blood competition which ended on Monday.

The winner, Kura, from Auckland film-making duo James Watson and Vince McMillan, was announced yesterday, after securing 45.7% of an online public vote, and will receive $100,000 of production funding.

Constance came second, with 36%.

Writer-producer, former Blue Mountain College pupil Tessa Livingston (24), said the team behind the pilot remained upbeat.

''We're very excited to press on and make the most of the interest we've built. This isn't the end for Constance.''
