Police are revealing few details about the man whose body was found in Lake Wānaka on December 31.

Police named the man on Thursday as Codey Jervis, 32, a New Zealand national living in London.

Police have declined to release other details about Mr Jervis.

However, they are seeking public help in their investigation into his movements before he died.
