Arnie Ahnfeldt, of Nelson, keeps a tight rein on dogs Kuma and VX in the two-dog scooter class race at the Southland Sled Dog Association Sandy Point Scarper event held at the weekend. The two-day event drew dozens of racers from around the country, and their dogs, to the purpose-built tracks.
