Centre manager Sandi Shepherd said the pantry was there to support everyone in the community.
“Together, we’re growing healthy food and a spirit of kindness.
“Please take what you need and give when you can.”
When the kindergarten’s or Plunket Invercargill community’s gardens had vegetables ready a notice would be posted on the Invercargill Community Facebook page.
The library and the pantry were built by the Invercargill Menz Shed members and artists Courtney McDonald and Alec Ferguson did the painting.
The library had books for all ages.
“You’re invited to borrow, return, or swap a book any time.”
