Gore Camera Club member Bob Smith said the overall standard of entries in this photographic competition was very high, making it extremely difficult to establish an outright winner.
However, when taking the theme briefing into consideration he decided on four images from the 57 submitted, he said.
He awarded first place to the photo of Lucy VandeWater, 9, of Mosgiel enjoying the summer sun at Kaka Point.
"It is said that a good photograph doesn’t need a caption to describe what is happening in the image, Mr Smith said.
He commended the photo as it said ‘It’s summer, let’s have fun’.
"Congratulations to the photographer."
