How did you feel when you found out you were elected a head student? How did you find out?
On the night of our school prizegiving, we were presented with the badges and a certificate. When I heard my name called out, I got a sense of accomplishment and happiness flow over me.
What do you hope to achieve as a head student? Do you have any goals and projects in mind?
I hope to make all students feel heard and feel that they have a year 13 friend they can come to, while still making school fun for all year groups.
What are you most excited about this year?
I am most excited for our sports exchange with Tokomairiro High School. That’s when we get to see the competitive side of most students you wouldn’t usually see at school.
What advice would you give to your fellow classmates this year?
To make the most of our last year effectively as kids.
What are your interests and hobbies inside and outside of school?
Most of my time is spent on a court or a field playing the sports I love which include football, cricket and basketball. Or my time is spent at car shows or motorsport events.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself hopefully travelling to England and Australia following the cricket seasons after getting my heavy diesel mechanic apprenticeship.
