Albion and Green Island will meet in the final round of the Dunedin senior one-day competition, with the winner to take the title.
With no final scheduled, fate has seen fit to pit the two best teams against each other in what is a virtual final.
Both teams are undefeated with five wins and a draw.
Green Island was the runner-up last season but Albion is the big improver, moving from a disappointing sixth place to being one win away from winning the trophy.
Otago and Green Island opener Craig Cumming has a minor foot injury and will not play in the match.
Albion will be without Otago all-rounder Nathan McCullum, who took a blow on the hand during the Otago trial match.
New Otago opener Hamish Rutherford will play for Green Island and Otago middle-order batsman Shaun Haig will play for Albion.
Both have been in superb form this summer.
Carisbrook-Dunedin and University-Grange meet at Tonga Park in what will be a play-off for third place.
Also at stake is a place in the southern region club knockout tournament, with just the top three Dunedin sides reserved a spot in the competition.
In other matches, Taieri will play Kaikorai and Pelichet Bay will meet winless North East Valley.
