Overnight leader Zach Murray jabbed two birdies in the final two holes to take a one shot lead into the final day of the NZ Open in Arrowtown.
It is tight at the top of the leaderboard after the third day.
New Zealander Josh Geary had a fine third round and stormed into the lead after an eagle on the 15th hole.
He continued to play well and despite a bit of bad luck on the 18th, where his ball hit a sprinkler head and rolled into the bunker, he still finished with par on the last hole.
That gave him a round of nine under 63 at The Hills and puts him on 16 under.
Geary, who comes from the Bay of Plenty, had started the day well back but did not hit a bogey all day. He is one behind Murray.
Masterton golfer Harry Bateman, along with two Japanese golfers, are next on 14 under. Ryan Fox could not get much going, and ended the day on 10 under.
There are 16 golfers on 10 under or better, which will make for a fascinating final day. The Hills course was bathed in sunshine today and fine weather is forecast again tomorrow.
The Open is celebrating its 100th edition this year.
