Auckland looks set to score a hat trick when 14 teams tee off in the New Zealand women's interprovincial on the Muriwai golf course in West Auckland this morning.

Auckland has won 21 titles since the event began, including three of the past four, with an exciting last-green win at St Clair last year.

Four of the successful 2012 team are back this year. Sisters Munchin and Wenyung Keh fill the first two places, Joanna Kim is at No 3 and the hero of the win at St Clair, Brittney Dryland, is at No 5.

Dryland not only made a winning par on St Clair's 18th hole but helped Auckland come from behind by holing in one on the par-3 13th.

No 3 Celyn Khoo is the only newcomer.

Second-placed Wellington has three back from last year. Julianne Alvarez, Te Rongopai Clay and Lucy Davis are in the top three slots.

Another strong contender, Bay of Plenty, will be out to avenge the men's team loss on the North Shore last week.

Otago will be out to build on the team's performance last year with the hope of improving on its 10th placing.

Laura Hoskin (18) will be at No 1 and will meet the best female players in New Zealand.

Otago is not drawn against Auckland but Hoskin's main opponents will be Alvarez (Wellington), Alanna Campbell (Bay of Plenty) Emily Stenhouse (Tasman) and Celeste McLean (Taranaki).

South Otago schoolgirl Abby Crawford will have a tough task on debut at No 2.

Crawford (16) helped the Balclutha club to a pennant win this year and won the bronze division champion of champions last year.

Susan Greig had a cakewalk at No 5 on her home course last year, winning her first match by a resounding 10 and 8.

Greig moves up to No 3 this week but the former No 1 has plenty of experience and should perform well.

Chisholm Park's Sally Shaw is also on debut and is likely to post some winning scores at No 4.

Veteran Liz McRae (Wanaka) brings a wealth of experience to the team and she should be the anchor at No 5.
