Tapanui was a clear winner of the Otago women's pennant final played over three rounds on the Chisholm Park links during the past two days.
The team of Anne Robertson, Jackee Soper, Margaret Edgar, Mary-Anne Kane and Marilyn Reddit won all three matches to take the title.
On Sunday, Tapanui beat Balmacewen by 3 to 2 and Waikouaiti yesterday morning by a convincing 4-1 margin.
Maniototo also notched two wins in the first two rounds and the last match-up, between Tapanui and Maniototo, became the final.
The South Otago team made no race of the final, beating the Ranfurly quintet with four wins and a half from the five matches.
Reddit, at No 5, set the pace, beating her opponent by an impressive 8 and 7 margin.
The next three matches finished in favour of Tapanui on the 15th green, while Maniototo gained a single half in the battle of the No 1 players when Ros Patterson held Robertson to a half.
With the Toro women's interprovincial at St Clair in December, there is much interest in all local women's fixtures this year.
The next outing of note will be the champion of champions event, at Balclutha on Thursday week.
The South Island interprovincial will be played at St Clair on October 13 and 14.
