Sonny Bill Williams is committed to playing for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL again next year, according to reports from Australia.

The Telegraph today reported that Williams has agreed to sign a one-year contract with the Roosters for 2014, believed to be worth around $1 million.

The new 12-month extension at Bondi hasn't formally been signed but is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The 27-year-old is still expected to return to Super Rugby in 2015 in a bid to be part of the All Blacks defence of the Rugby World Cup.

The Chiefs are hoping to regain his services and were thought to be keen on luring him back across the Tasman next year.

Williams, who played 19 tests for the All Blacks, has been in fine form since his return to rugby league this year and was once again the standout performer in the Roosters' 18-12 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles on Monday night.
