Australian winger Brent Tate and lock Paul Gallen will be given until game day to prove their fitness for the rugby league World Cup final on Saturday.
The pair were today named in an unchanged Kangaroo 17 for the title showdown with the Kiwis in Brisbane.
Tate suffered a hip injury in Australia's 52-0 semifinal win over Fiji and hasn't trained so far this week.
Gallen has a corked thigh, and although he got through training today, still has to pass a final fitness test.
Meanwhile, skipper Darren Lockyer was missing from a visit by both squads to a Brisbane school hit by the storm that lashed southeast Queensland on Sunday night.
An Australian team spokesman said Lockyer had a sore throat and had stayed back at the hotel as a precaution.
He said the five-eighth had got through the full session today and was expected to take his place in the final.
Tate's brother-in-law and fellow New Zealand Warrior, Australian prop Steve Price, said Tate was itching to run out at Suncorp Stadium.
"Fingers crossed he'll be alright," Price said.
"I know how much it means to him, but whatever happens, it will be in the best interests of the team whether he plays or doesn't play."
The squad that coach Ricky Stuart has chosen includes the same starting 13 that began the 30-6 defeat of New Zealand in the opening round of the pool stages last month.
There are two changes in the reserves from that encounter at the Sydney Football Stadium, with Karmichael Hunt and Craig Fitzgibbon coming in for Kurt Gidley and Josh Perry.
Australia: Billy Slater, Joel Monaghan, Greg Inglis, Israel Folau, Brent Tate, Darren Lockyer (captain), Johnathan Thurston, Petero Civoniceva, Cameron Smith, Steve Price, Glenn Stewart, Anthony Laffranchi, Paul Gallen.
Interchange: Karmichael Hunt, Craig Fitzgibbon, Anthony Tupou, Brent Kite.
