Orienteering: Kiwi wins world title

Mathew Ogden created history when he became the first New Zealander to win a world orienteering championship, taking out the junior title in the middle distance in Slovakia overnight.

Ogden, who attends Auckland University, was also the first male outside Europe to win at junior world orienteering championship level.

He completed the 4.8km course in 27 minutes 55 seconds, 13 seconds ahead of Jan Petrela of the Czech Republic.
