Hall (22), a psychology and commerce student, won his third New Zealand senior men's discus title with a 53.23m throw at the Caledonian Ground in Dunedin in March.

Robinson (20) is a third-year physical education student and was among the nine new entrants for the 2011 Academy Otago programme.

She won a national athletics title in the 3000m walk with a time of 14min 36.87sec in Dunedin in March.

Southern Steel and Otago shooter Te Paea Selby-Rickit received her blue and was named the University of Otago Maori sports person of the year for her achievements on the netball court.

The Otago Uni Freestyle Sports Club (OUFSC), a hybrid amalgamation of alpine and action sports enthusiasts comprising skiers, snowboarders, surfers and skaters, was named the OUSA sports club of the year for the second year in a row.

OUFSC has evolved from the Alpine Sports Club, which was given the best club award last year for its achievements at the Uni Snow Games - University of Otago students again claimed the top prize at this year's event in Wanaka.

Squash player Ross Haines was awarded the University of Otago Graduates Association outstanding contribution to sport award.

Haines graduated last year with a bachelor of science degree. During his time as a member of the University Squash Club he filled numerous roles, such as treasurer, tournament controller, team manager, selector and the 2011 men's club captain.

Honorary blues were awarded to former Otago vice-chancellor Prof Sir David Skegg and the university's chief operating officer, John Patrick.
