Wanaka teenager Zoi Sadowski Synnott has claimed her first slopestyle world cup win with a triumphant run in the Czech Republic.

Sadowski Synnott (16) recorded a top score of 87.35 on the last of her three runs in Spindleruv Mlyn, more than six points more than second-placed Canadian Spencer O’Brien.

Defending champion Silvia Mittermueller, from Germany, finished third.

‘‘My last run was the best. I felt so comfortable,’’ Sadowski Synnott said.

‘‘I liked the first part of the track — the rails. It was a great week here.’

Sadowski Synnott will remain in the Czech Republic for next week’s junior world championships.

She is the third New Zealander, following Juliane Bray in 2001 and Christy Prior in 2014, to win a snowboard world cup event.

She had earlier picked up a second placing in an early March meet in Spain and a third in Canada last month.
