Strategic changes in the two equine codes headline the 2024-25 New Zealand racing calendar released yesterday.
The revised calendar features an increase of 27 Sunday meetings for thoroughbred racing, including 14 double thoroughbred meetings on Sundays.
Forty-six extra harness racing meeting will take place, including an 36 extra meetings on a Tuesday to be run for lower stakes. Addington and Alexandra Park will run on Friday nights together 35 times next season.
Greyhound meetings are largely a rollover of this season’s scheduling, 407 being planned.
