- Stunin Cullen repeated the feat of Tuherbs for owners Terry McDonald and Eddie Griffin when he won a Sires' Stakes heat for 2yr-olds at Addington last night at his first start.
Messrs McDonald, of Christchurch and Griffin, of Dunedin, bought Stunin Cullen three weeks ago.
Stunin Cullen, a Christian Cullen-Vicario colt had displayed outstanding ability at trials for trainer Nigel McGrath.
Stunin Cullen was transferred to Tim Butt and Phil Anderson at West Melton.
Messrs McDonald and Griffin won the 2004 Welcome Stakes at Addington first up with Tuherbs after buying him as an unraced 2yr-old.
The Tim Butt-trained Tuherbs won a Sires' Stakes heat at Addington two starts later and ran second to Ambro The Thug in the final.
Tuherbs had to be put down last September after a leg injury. He won nine races including the 2007 Easter Cup.
