Lezani, who was bought at a Ready To Run Sale in Melbourne four months ago, won the 2yr-old race first up at Riccarton yesterday.
A filly by Beautiful Crown from the Strategic mare, Rondalla, Lezani was bought by Balcairn trainers John and Karen Parsons. who were on holiday in Melbourne.
The took Mark and Sandra Ritchie, of Rolleston; Tony and Marlene Rutz, of Hamilton and Malcolm and Margaret Seaton, of Darfield into the ownership.
Mr Ritchie was in the ownership of Frosty Heir, winner of the 1988 Invercargill Cup from the Parsons stable.
Mr Rutz raced Mike, winner of the 2002 New Zealand Cup.
The Seatons have been long time clients of the Parsons stable.
There is a race for Lezani at Wingatui on December 26.
Beautiful Crown has sired the Caulfield Guineas winner, In Top Swing.
Karen Parsons travelled to Levin yesterday with O'Cartier, Alpine Heights and the pacer Roseaire, who is engaged at Wanganui tomorrow.
The other two are racing at Awapuni today, where Parsons is concerned about a rain affected trackMatthew Cameron has switched to Volgus in race 10 at Awapuni with the scratching of topweight Heredity.
