One of Ian Foster's final acts as All Blacks coach was to send a please explain to World Rugby following the Rugby World Cup final.
The All Blacks lost the World Cup final to South Africa in a game that Foster said he and his coaching team would review despite Foster ending his 11-year association with the national team this week.
The final in Paris had a number of contentious calls over red and yellow cards and other officiating decisions.
On his arrival back to New Zealand just days after the World Cup campaign ended Foster said "we've already sent a file into World Rugby to get them to make a few comments on. Hopefully they do."
Foster was in no hurry to decide what would be next for him.
He said he was "very much so" interested in continuing to coach but would not be drawn on the vacant Wallabies coaching job and said he would be taking a break and "reevaluating" what his next move would be.
But he would be keeping in contact with some of his former All Blacks charges over the coming months.
"I invited a few of them to come around and pitch their tent on the lawn and I'll supply the music and bbq and they can maybe bring a few drinks but I might actually fly around and see a few of them in the next month just to do the proper send-off."
