Dunedin's points-scoring maestro Liam Edwards played a key role in Dunedin's narrow 24-20 win over Harbour in Dunedin club rugby today.

The fleet-footed Edwards was injured when playing for Otago in the national Sevens and was only playing his third game of club rugby

He scored two tries and kicked two conversions to score 14 points to take his tally to 50 in just three games.

Midfield back Shannon Young was in dynamic form and broke through the defence at will to help Taieri score six tries to beat Zingari-Richmond 36-19 at Montecillo.

A feature of the game was the return of flying wing Tom Davie, who came on in the second spell to score a try.

He was injured in pre-season training last year and this was his first premier game in two years.

Varsity A bounced back from their big loss to Southern last week to score eight tries to beat Alhambra-Union 62-8 at the University Oval.

Fullback Adam Gavegan scored two of Pirates' seven tries when Green Island was beaten 46-13 at Hancock Park.

Kaikorai regained the Frank Cadman Memorial Trophy when they beat Southern 26-20 at Bishopscourt.

Kaikorai 26, Southern 20; Dunedin 24, Harbour 20; Taieri 36, Zingari-Richmond 19; University A 62, Alhambra-Union 8; Pirates 46, Green Island 13.
