Lock Joe Launchbury is adamant the England forwards did not use delaying tactics at the lineout in Auckland.
There has been some criticism this week that England attempted to slow the game down by going into a huddle before each lineout.
''It's not something we try and do,'' he said in Dunedin last night.
''We get the call as we go into the lineout and we like to play fast rugby.''
Launchbury (23), a lock for London Wasps, said every team at top club level in Europe and in the Six Nations did it the same way.
''We watched a Super rugby match and obviously you do it differently here, '' he said.
The English players had a strong belief in their ability before the first test and the loss in Auckland has not dampened their enthusiasm.
''Our belief has always been high,'' Launchbury said.
''We are confident in the direction we are heading as a team and, hopefully, we will prove it this weekend.''
Launchbury was part of the English pack that gave the All Blacks a run for their money in the first test.
There are five changes in the English team but only one in the forwards. Blindside flanker Tom Wood replaces James Haskell.
''It is a good place where we are now,'' Launchbury said. `We have a group of guys here and also back home who will be itching to come off the bench and itching to play.
''Our pack put in a good effort at Auckland and we have been entrusted to do it again.''
The backline also showed more spark than usual last week.
''It makes a difference when you come up from the scrum and see someone like Manu [Tuiliagi] has got you on the front foot. It makes a big difference.''
Playing under the roof at Forsyth Barr Stadium will not be a new experience for Launchbury.
''There are a couple of stadiums in Europe that have a roof,'' he said.
''I've experienced it at Cardiff. We will have a look at the stadium tomorrow to see what it is like.''
Launchbury appreciated the warm welcome for the England team at Dunedin airport yesterday.
''We arrived a bit too early in the morning at Auckland. It was nice to get a haka from schoolkids,'' he said.
''We really enjoyed it.''
The English team gave the haka team some wrist bands and badges for their effort.
