Rugby: Impey replaces Eagle as NZRU chairman

Brent Impey has been elected as the new chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union following the recent retirement of Mike Eagle.

Impey, a former Auckland age-grade coach, was elected to the role at the May board meeting this morning.

Impey, a former Chiefs and Waikato board member, is a company director in New Zealand and Australia. He is a former chief executive of MediaWorks. He joined the New Zealand Rugby board in 2012 as one of two independent directors.
