Rugby: Otago Boys remain unbeaten

Midfield back Sio Tomkinson was the star of the Otago Boys' team that thrashed South Otago High School 92-7 in the Highlanders First XV rugby competition at Balclutha today.

Tomkinson kicked 11 conversions from 12 attempts with his accurate goal kicking.

Otago Boys', the only unbeaten team after six rounds of the Highlanders competition, scored 13 tries with blindside flanker Matt Heffernan scoring a brilliant 60m solo try.

John McGlashan also went on a scoring spree when it score 13 tries to beat Central Southland College 77-6 in Dunedin.

No 8 Nemo Gent was in great form and scored two tries.

Kings was also in a try scoring mode when it scored eight tries to beat Mt Aspiring College 52-14 in Dunedin.

Brodie Flannery kicked two penalty goals when St Kevin's ground out a narrow 6-0 win over Dunstan at Oamaru.

In other games Southland Boys' beat Gore 67-7, Waitaki Boys' beat St Peters College 46-7 and Menzies College beat James Hargest 20-3.
