Six fire crews attended the blazes, which were reported about 5.30pm.
Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman Darryl Ball said crews found two 2m by 2m fires and were dampening down hotspots until about 7pm on Wednesday.
A police spokeswoman said police are working with FENZ investigators to determine the cause of the fires.
